Paraprofessional Support

ADAC works with school leaders, general education teachers, special education teachers, and paraprofessionals to:
  • Collaboratively assess and improve schools’ use of paraprofessionals in and across various learning environments
  • Collaboratively review current paraprofessional staffing roles and assignments and make recommendations for improved service/support to students
  • Improve, through group professional development for paraprofessionals, said paraprofessionals’ proficiency and skills in (1) improving for students with learning differences access to curricula, (2) helping these selfsame students to increase/improve their independence and communication skills, and (3) aiding teachers with data collection
  • Develop between special education teachers, general education teachers, and paraprofessionals effective systems of communication and collaboration to effectively provide to students with learning differences maximum support within the least restrictive environment
